Modulators

The Giddy-Up decoder creates a composite video signal that is run through a modulator to connect into a venues distribution system, each venue may have a different set-up, but the majority of venues will have a modulator supplied by Giddy-Up. The signal is carried by a video lead (either RCA to RCA in the case of Kingray modulators OR RCA to Scart in the case of Hills modulators).

There are two different types of modulators used (the latter has only been used in some venues in NSW).

GME Kingray modulator

To carry the Giddy-Up video signal king-ray modulators need to have the RCA video lead running into “Video In” and to have the power supply plugged in (the green light should be lit up) and the RF cable attached (this is what connects into the distribution system).

Hills Modulator

(some venues in NSW only may have these)

The scart connection (multi pin video connection)needs to be firmly connected to the Hills modulator, have power on ( a channel number should be showing on the panel) and an RF cable attached to the middle F-connector
